Christian education is setup on the foundation that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. Christ is the centerpiece of all that we do in our education. Without Christ at the center, our education would be meaningless.
At its core, Christian education is about a relationship with God through Christ. It’s about coming to know God intimately and personally – and letting Him transform our lives. It’s not just about acquiring knowledge, but about growing in wisdom and maturity. It’s not just about learning facts and figures, but about developing a biblical worldview.
In Christian education, we believe that truth is absolute and objective, coming from the mouth of God Himself. We believe that knowledge is power, and that acquiring knowledge will help us better serve God and others. We also believe that education should be enjoyable, interesting, and engaging. After all, we are learning about the most amazing subject in the world – the Lord Jesus Christ!
Christ is the head of the Church
Christ is the head of the Church (Ephesians 1:22) and Christian Education is His gift to the Church (Ephesians 4:11-12). Because He is the Head, His Word, will and ways are preeminent in all things (Matthew 28:18-20; Colossians 1:18). Our desire is to bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5), including our thoughts about education.
The Church
Christianity is not just a set of beliefs or a code of ethics. It is first and foremost a relationship with God that is meant to be lived out daily. In order to live out this relationship, Christians need a community of fellow believers to support and encourage them, which is why the Church is the foundation of Christian education.
The Church is the body of Christ
The Church is the body of Christ, of which He is the head. The Church consists of all who have been redeemed by Christ and are united to Him by faith. The Church is His Bride, His people, and His kingdom. The Church is commissioned by Christ to carry out the Great Commission.

The Church teaches us that every human being is created in the image and likeness of God and that we are called to live in communion with Him. “And God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them” (Genesis 1:27).
The Church also teaches us that we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8).
Thus, the Church is the foundation of Christian education because it is where we learn about who we are, who God is, and how we can live in communion with Him.
