Students will develop an understanding of what sustainability means and why it is important. They will also learn about different approaches to sustainability (e.g., sustainable development, ecological modernization).
Equity:
Students will develop an understanding of equity concepts such as social justice and environmental justice. They will also learn about different types of inequities (e.g., race, gender, class).
Economics:
Students will develop an understanding of basic economic concepts such as supply and demand, opportunity cost, and trade-offs.

Now that we’ve covered what ESSA is and how it will affect schools, we wanted to take some time to focus on how the act will affect families and communities.
